Brandberg clear Quartz tabby crystal uncommon shape
(From Namibia)
Called a tabby crystal due to the very flat surface and are uncommon from this area. The crystal has excellent clarity with inclusions of veils that reflect brightly in the base. Red to black flecks of hematite are throughout. In the termination is negative quartz with jagged edges like a row of mountains. The termination is intact although there are a couple of tiny nicks. The outer surface of the crystal is striated. At the base is a small crystal embedded. The base is cut flat to enable the crystal to stand upright. SKU000095 |

Brandberg crystal Smoky Phantom & Enhydro inclusions
(From Namibia)
This crystal has dark smoky very thin lines making up chevron phantoms in the top end of the crystal with a hint of amethyst in the mix. Natural inclusions of negative quartz has trapped at least 5 enhydro's gas/fluid bubbles, one moves up and down the small chamber, and there is a little bit of black to red hematite flecks as seen under magnification. The termination is perfect and unusually it displays left and right sided 's' faces either side of the 'r' face. The surface of the crystal has well defined striations as well as impressions of where another mineral has dissolved. There is a 'blow-out' a shattering from within during growth due to high temperatures, the crystals has re-healed itself but shows a large hole right into the centre of the quartz allowing a view of the shapes of the negative quartz. The base has been cut to allow the crystal to stand upright. SKU000096 |

Brandberg Quartz & 4 Enhydro's
(From Namibia)
This clear crystal has excellent clarity and packed with stunning negative quartz forms which reflect brightly and have several gas/fluid bubbles trapped, at least 4 move in the individual chambers 3 in the top half of the crystal and one near the bottom, although all are tiny 1 mm and smaller as viewed under magnification. I was able to capture the biggest as shown in the photo. The beige clay is an inclusion coating the exterior of the negative quartz. The crystal has a few small rainbow reflecting. The termination is perfect. The outer surface are striated, has an indent where another crystal was embedded partial recrystallized and self-healed. It has a contact twin crystal at the side. The base has been cut to allow the crystal to stand upright. SKU000098 |
